SparkleScroll Privacy Policy 1.0 / 2026-10-19 How this development preview processes scrolling, preferences, and system permissions on your Mac, and information you choose to send for support. 1. Scope and maintainers SparkleScroll is an independent macOS scrolling-direction utility maintained by 唐梓耀 / AdrianSparkle and 丁铭 / EliasSparkle under Sparkle. This policy covers the supplied app. This website, Apple services, and other services you choose have their own processing scope. 2. Local scroll-event processing When enabled with the required permissions, the app processes horizontal and vertical scroll deltas, continuity, gesture and momentum phases, and source process identifiers to classify devices, reverse configured axes, adjust supported wheel-unit steps, or exclude software-generated scrolling. Recent device classification and continuous-scroll state serve the current running interface. The event mask covers scroll-wheel events only. The app does not read typed text, screen content, clipboard contents, file contents, camera, microphone, location, or contacts, and does not create input histories, advertising profiles, or AI-training data. Broad system permissions do not mean every related capability is actually used. 3. Preferences, permissions, and diagnostics Device, axis, step, enablement, exclusion, and menu bar preferences are saved in local UserDefaults. Language preferences are saved separately. The app reads system Natural Scrolling without changing it. SMAppService and System Settings manage login startup. Input Monitoring and Accessibility are requested and checked separately, with periodic state refresh. Current code logs permission-state changes through system logging, not scroll contents or typed input. macOS and your settings determine the actual retention of system diagnostics, logs, and backups. 4. Networks and external recipients The current app has no account, telemetry, advertising SDK, in-app update checks, or automatic downloader. The bundle requests no network-connection entitlements and does not automatically send scroll events or preferences to maintainers. Opening the website, System Settings, or an external source involves the relevant system or website. Websites can receive IP addresses, request headers, and ordinary request information. The document entry in the current project opens this product’s website document page; this page is also available independently on the website. Support email services and maintainers receive contact details, descriptions, and attachments you actively submit. Remove unrelated personal information first. 5. Retention, stopping, and deletion Pausing or quitting stops scroll adjustment but does not automatically delete local preferences. Revoke permissions, disable login startup, and manage preferences, logs, or backups through the relevant system facilities. Uninstalling does not necessarily erase every preference or system copy. Maintainers cannot remotely read or erase local configuration you have not provided. Support materials are used and retained only as necessary to handle the request and meet applicable obligations. Contact maintainers about access, corrections, or deletion. No single fixed retention period implies permission to retain information indefinitely. 6. Security, use, and changes Permissions, sandboxing, and local storage provide some isolation but cannot guarantee security on a compromised Mac. Use devices you are authorized to control. Minors should use the app with appropriate guardian permission and guidance. Rights requests and security incidents involving information actually held by maintainers are handled under applicable law. Material changes to features, purposes, or recipients will be dated and explained. Updating a webpage does not replace legally required notice or consent. Language versions aim to convey equivalent scope without reducing statutory rights. 7. Contact Email sparklebossletter@outlook.com for product support, privacy, or rights requests. Identify SparkleScroll, its version, and the request. Do not initially send passwords, complete system logs, or unnecessary personal information.
